Books, books, books for sale
Don't forget to come along to Hokowhitu Village Centre book sale - this Saturday, 22 May, 9 am to 12 midday.
Hundreds of fiction titles, $2 each or 3 for $5. Some other books ranging in price from $3 to $7, and children's books at 50c. Don't forget we also have jigsaws, plants, wheat bags, and a wonderful raffle.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
