Te Awahou kai free food store

Linda from Foxton

TE AWAHOU KAI FREE FOOD RESCUE STORE.
Exciting we have been operating for 6 weeks now.
As many of you are aware, I had this dream to bring a free food rescue store to Foxton and surrounding small communities, (we are based out of room 9 at Foxton primary school), I'm so greatful for the ongoing support and backing of each of you who have played a key part in this become reality, but the reality is we already run on the smell of an oily rag, but it's not enough, we are in desperate need of donations for rent, utilities and petrol.
I have been covering the costs of the above, this has been some weeks in excess of $100, this is not sustainable for my family, I'm asking you the community of Te Awahou kai to please give to our givealittle page or in the way of petrol vouchers/cash donations. Every cent/dollar helps.
We travel around town and out of town to gather food and other items to help our people who are in need.
If you know of any business's that would donate food or other items, or have items at home or in the garden, please contact our Facebook page.
At some stage in our lives we have struggled or known someone close that is struggling.
I am asking for support in our day to day running costs, please help Te Awahou kai continue to serve our community.
For anymore information please contact me on 0272213561 or Linda.teawahoukai@gmail.com or the Te Awahou kai Facebook page.
Blessings Linda Lake.

Poll: If we want to reduce speeding, what do you think actually changes driver behaviour? πŸ›»πŸš¨πŸš“

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In the Post's article on speeding penalties, the question is asked whether speeding fines are truly about road safety, or are they just a way to boost revenue for the Crown?

What do you think? Should speeding motorists receive speeding fines or demerit points?

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature β€” and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!
