The Manawatū Standard's local columnist, Carly Thomas, has become a waste-free warrior. She lugs her keep-cups and tote bags everywhere she shops to reduce her impact on our ever increasing mountains of rubbish.
She's noticed supermarkets and stores are adapting to the needs of the waste-free warrior, making it easier to adapt to the lifestyle.

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
