Sewing Machine Bobbins

Yvonne from Takaro

I have 24 Bernina sewing machine bobbins. 21 have some thread on them including one that has Charlotte's fusible Web from Superior Threads in the USA that is rather expensive. I'm selling them at $2 each, and as they cost $4 each, that's rather a bargain.

Hello Neighbours, this is Bob from the Greasy Chain Charitable Trust and this is our first post, so I'd appreciate your comments.

In a nutshell, the Trust is an organisation formed to encourage more people to become fitter, save the environment, and save some money, by using bikes more often - commuting, schooling, shopping, for sport or just for relaxation. You can see our five guiding principles in our 'About' profile.

Reason for this post is that on Saturday 25th January, we have two events in which we'd really like to have your involvement.

The first is a Family Fun Ride along the Riverbank Pathway, joining anywhere from Linton to just near Memorial Park. Families can join the ride anytime from 10am and should arrive at Memorial Park by 12.30pm. We're grateful to our friends at Milson Rotary for helping with this event.

The second is the Over the Line Festival at Memorial Park starting at 12 noon and finishing at 5pm. There'll be live music, food stalls, children's entertainment, spot prizes for families and more (including secure bike parking). This event is being managed by the Palmerston North City Council.

Both of these events are in conjunction with the Gravel and Tar cycle events that start in Feilding and finish at Memorial Park on the 25th, which the Trust also manages.

Should you require further information, please respond to this post or give me a call on 027 565 1110.

I look forward to meeting many of you on Saturday the 25th.

Bob.
PS: we are still looking for some volunteers to help out with our events, so if you have a few hours available on Saturday 25th, please email Katherine Stannard katherine.stannard@pncc.govt.nz.

Are you building your own home or have you just finished? We're keen to hear from you

Kelly Dennett Reporter from Sunday Star Times

The Sunday Star-Times is investigating the rising number of consents made for home builds.

Perhaps you're a first-time home owner who has opted to build, rather than buy pre-existing, or maybe you're seasoned home owners who have taken the first step to create your own dream home.

The Look Out! Performing Arts and Entertainment Guide is back for another weekly round of things to do, places to go and shows to see.
There are plenty of organised school holiday activities, along with several ad hoc free events, which include the first of 2020’s Movies in Parks taking place in Bunnythorpe on Friday evening.

Among the outdoorsy, work-off-that-Christmas-waistline events is the Walk the New Highway: Hikoi o Te Ahu a Turanga. That joins the Park Run, the Super Sevens, an arts & garden tour, a beach dig, Beats Bites & Brushes, the Globe Theatre’s Summer Sounds Festival, and the 3-day Marton Country Music Festival. Yee-hah!
