Breast Cancer Fundraising
Every year, I fundraise for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ, especially around my birthday, in honour of my nan.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer in Kiwi women. 1 in 9 women will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime. 650 women in Aotearoa die from the disease every year and this is why I fundraise to help change that.
All donations go to raise funds for life-saving education, life-changing patient support and ground-breaking medical research to bring us closer to a day when there are zero deaths from breast cancer.
All donations are much appreciated, $5, $10, any amount will help tremendously👇
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
-
59.5% Yes, supporting people is important!
-
25.2% No, individuals should take responsibility
-
15.3% ... It is complicated
