Community Pic nic and Rock Painting 3rd December 10a.m. to 2.p.m.
PNCC, Palmy Rocks and Friends of Waitoetoe park invite the community to a family picnic and an opportunity to say what you would like to see developed in the park. There will be a sausage sizzle, as well as fruit and water, with maybe a surprise as well. The rock painting is for families to create some treasures to then hide, and to find other treasures for yourselves. There will be a nature treasure hunt and an list of neat things to do and see in the park. If you have a kite or want to kick a ball,, or even set up a game of rounders that can be arranged, but come and have your say on what you want to see as development of a true City asset.
Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
