Poll: How about WINZ and OSCAR funded weekend childcare facilities?

Donna from Roslyn - Terrace End

I am a single parent struggling on a benefit. I meet employers interested in giving me a job but so far 100% of them have wanted weekend work as well. I don't have access to free family babysitters and I'm not going to pay a babysitter all my minimum wage. I'm guessing other single parents and some couples have this road block to. Isn't it about time day cares and places like the YMCA are open 7 days?

How about WINZ and OSCAR funded weekend childcare facilities?

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
