Elections and Signs.

Iola from Awapuni

Hi Neighbours, today is the last day for nominations to for Councils, Hospital Boards and the mayoralty.
Sadly once again we have already seen some signs stolen which is not only annoying but is also expensive. The signs cost about $40 each.
Some years ago we had a problem with a young group of supporters of a particular candidate, removing and destroying signs of another candidate, the cost to that candidate was $2,000 and the Mayoralty. I would urge all neighbours to watch out for signs in your neighbourhood and to keep an eye on them for the prospective candidates.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
