Pirongia Heavy Horse Shoeing Competition & Classic Car Show

Samantha from Pirongia - Karamu

Come along to the Heavy Horse Shoeing Competition and Royals Rumble Classic Car Show at Pirongia Clydesdales this Saturday, 30 September.

The shoeing competition will see teams of some of the country's best farriers working with forges and making horseshoes to fit to our Clydesdale horses.

We're also pleased to welcome the Royals Rumble Classic Car and Motorcycle show this year. Prepare to be impressed with this magnificent display of horsepower (of a newer kind).

Bring the whole family out to enjoy this show of farrier craftsmanship and meet our beautiful Clydesdale horses. While you're there enjoy a family lunch at our on site Coach House Country Cafe Pirongia and marvel over the impressive car display.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?

While things are looking calmer in the days ahead, there are still plenty of slips and flooded roads across the district — so if you’re heading out, take it easy and stay alert.

We want to know: How did you and your whānau get on over the weekend?

Want to see what recovery will look like from here? The Waikato Times has the latest.
