Knitting for charity
The next meeting of the "Knitting Nannas" will be held on Tuesday, 25th July at 1.30pm in the Lounge of the church of St George & St John, Domain Road, Whakatane. Anyone interested will be made most welcome as we meet over a cuppa and a chat. Completed articles will be collected and some donated yarn is still available to start you off on your next project.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
