Front-line Staff Safety
It's way past time that anyone who employs staff in NZ; particularly staff like nurses, doctors, and any type of enforcement role dealing with the public; be legally required to provide them with lapel cameras under the Health and Safety in Employment Act. Footage can be uploaded to the "Cloud" as an incident occurs, and it's hard for an offender to argue with a video recording. The equipment is a very economic way of providing protection in the workplace.
It's amazing how self-entitled idiots tone down their disobedient, aggressive, violent, nasty behaviors when faced with being recorded, and the recording being used against them in Court. I am amazed that unions and other workers' organisations do not insist on this level of protection for their members. Privacy laws be hanged; no one deserves to be attacked in their work place. Our privacy laws are often just another layer of protection for ratbag behavior.
