Another Guy Fawkes rolls around and once again i am dreading it. Every year thousands of animals are injured after being panicked by fireworks. Thousands more are not physically harmed but left traumatized by the noise. Many react as if they are about to be shot. They are terrified.
Please do not let fireworks off in open spaces where horses, sheep or other animals are grazing. Spare a thought also for your neighbours who may have a horse grazing next door, or back yard chickens who are equally terrified of fireworks. Make sure your cats and dogs are safely inside, and if you can, let your neighbours know when you are setting off fireworks so they can put their pets inside too.

Affected properties are from Waikanae Beach to Peka Peka from the intersection of Te Moana Rd and Huiawa St, Heperi St and all the way to the end of Paetawa Road and Peka Peka Beach.

The water supply may be shut down and restored at any stage between 9am and 3pm. Our crew is aiming to have some water to most properties back within 2 hours.

Following the shutdown, you may notice a milky appearance caused by air in the water, this will clear rapidly. If you have any recurring problems, please call us on 0800 486 486.
