Some dogs feel anxious and fearful of other dogs and people – if you crowd a scared dog, they may become aggressive out of fear. Chances are their owner will be trying to keep some distance between you anyway – help them out by giving them that extra space.
If you have a nervous dog, do use a yellow ribbon on their collar or lead when you're out, and don't be afraid to advocate for them. You can read more about this, and keeping your dog safe in summer, at www.kapiticoast.govt.nz...
A big ngā mihi to our friends at Wellington City Council for launching this super cool initiative.

This is an active worksite with a partially removed tree so for your safety, stay well clear of the area, especially while it’s so windy.
Please also avoid using the informal track between the reserve and The Crescent, and follow the directions of any signage on site.
While the strong winds are here, be careful out there!
- Strong wind gusts like these could damage trees, powerlines and unsecured structures.
- Take extra care on the roads (especially for high-sided vehicles and motorcycles)
- Secure any outdoor items like wheelie bins, trampolines and outdoor furniture that may blow around.
If you see anything that needs our attention, report it via our free Antenno app, or call 0800 486 486.

We are on the hunt for a small sized hut to go inside my daughter's bedroom for Sooty, her giant rabbit. She has a palace in the garden, but thought a dog crate or small hutch would work well when we want to keep her safe (when we aren't there to watch the cats or dog around her).
