How long should a Phone/Internet outage last? 4 Months?
My connection at Auckland Rd Warkworth has been completely unreliable for 4 months now.
I'm with Slingshot, the retail arm of 2Talk Communications
Several technicians have visited, “found” the problem, and “rectified” it – although not a single one has actually done so. I even got a $250 fee for a callout! One in particular claimed it was our burglar alarm causing the fault, and “disconnected” it – he actually left it connected to the phone line and chopped off the KEYPAD wires!!!! I had to power down the alarm to shut it up. This is blatant damage by an unskilled person and I will need to get it fixed, now.
So, Saturday night we finally got dial tone again. But internet is still abominably slow. I have latency of anywhere between 300 and 2974 ms, meaning most java-based website functions fail (eg, captcha im-not-a-robot)
What do I have to do to get it fixed? I’m beyond upset. Surely a customer who has been with Slingshot for over 10 years deserves better support than this?
Who do I contact to get action? Do I have to go to the government or what?

Animal Abuser
🚨 URGENT WARNING TO ALL LOST & FOUND / PET REHOMING PAGES 🚨 and people rehoming pets or reporting lost animals.
It has come to our attention that a long-term, repeat animal abuser is still actively obtaining animals through Facebook groups.
The type of animal does not matter — birds, livestock, dogs, small pets — anything he can access.
He monitors rehoming pages. He approaches people offering “help.” He presents as reasonable. He will say the right things.
Do not give this person any animals under any circumstances.
If you are an admin of a lost & found page, a community group, or a pet rehoming group:
• Please stay vigilant
• Check profiles carefully
• Share this warning across your networks
Animals have already paid the price for people not knowing.
If you are unsure about someone requesting an animal, ask rescue groups to help.
