Waste Management consider use of rail for rubbish transfer
Hi neighbours, the Mahurangi East Residents and Ratepayers Association have put a proposal forward to Waste Management, requesting it consider using the Northern Rail Line for its rubbish transfer to get 300 rubbish trucks off deadly SH1 in the Dome Valley, should the landfill gain council approval. MERRA said it is against the landfill being built in the beautiful environment the Dome Valley is known for, but put forward the idea knowing the landfill proposal is driven by a powerful need.
The "under-used" rail line passes nearby Waste Management's property border (pictured).
