Hi guys my name is Carole Garnham.
I’ve been in the travel biz for 30 years and have collected many high flyer awards over the years. It all began for me in London on my “Big OE” – 6 years of pure fun combined with ownership of a VW combi (Neil Neil Orange Peel) that allowed me to travel across the UK and Europe extensively !
Whilst living and working in London, I worked for Insight Vacations and specialised in the operation of their coach touring programme throughout the UK, Europe, Scandinavia, the Middle East, USA and Canada.
Then I moved over to Crystal Ski Holidays and became a European/USA ski specialist, with many opportunities to ski every year. And lastly (but certainly not least) I ended up with Kuoni, a renowned prestigious UK Tour Operator, specializing in fly/drive and wedding packages across the Caribbean and North America.
Once back in New Zealand, prior to joining The Travel Broker Team, I’ve worked in the Retail Travel Industry for two prominent travel agencies, over a period of 10 years one of which specialised in online internet consulting. I’ve travelled extensively throughout both the Northern and Southern Pacific Rim Hemispheres, including a 3 month African overland trip, Asia and India. I have a passion for cruising which has seen me complete 20 cruises so far cruising with P&O, Carnival, Princess (I hold Princess Academy accreditation), NCL, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Cunard and Avalon.
The areas I have cruised cover :
San Francisco to Mexico
West and Eastern Caribbean Puerto Rico, Columbia and Haiti.
New York to Quebec
Auckland through the islands to Australia, and around NZ twice.
Out of Europe up to Scandinavia and Russia.
Dubai over to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Oman.
Japan over to Korea and East Russia.
Vancouver through to Alaska return.
Circumnavigated Hawaiian islands.
Panama Canal crossing covering Mexico, Costa Rica and Colombia through Central America.
House boats of the backwaters of Kerala, India
River cruising Luxembourg to Nuremburg

In addition to the specials that I can get my hands on with The Travel Brokers, I have also created my own website www.go4it.co.nz... which gives me the opportunity to offer slightly different alternative holidays that capture the many interests I have at heart; yoga, dancing, cooking, skiing and cycling getaways. 2017 took me to Vietnam, China, United Kingdom and river cruising in Europe. Most recently I’ve been back over to Singapore, Bali and India. 2018 I landed in South America with time spent in Argentina and Brazil. And can say for 2019 - I've now added the Philippines into the mix!

You name it I’ve been there, or if not I’m probably thinking about going there real soon. So whatever your plans or dreams are, as an avid traveller, let me create your next magical holiday or cruise experience!

Hi Neighbours!

The Minister for Seniors Tracey Martin has released the new strategy for our ageing population, Better Later Life – He Oranga Kaumātua 2019 to 2034.

Like the rest of the developed world, New Zealand has an ageing population. This means there are some things we must consider and prepare for as a country.

Better Later Life takes a fresh look at what is required to ensure New Zealand is a great place to age and achieve the vision of making sure older people lead valued, connecting and fulfilling lives.

The strategy's key areas for action will be used to guide the priorities of what needs to happen in our action plan.

Jo and Rachel talked about what's going on in their own backyards and suggested some edible crops you can sow and grow yourself. Jo gave a masterclass in planting tomatoes, the pair discussed peeing on lemon trees and keeping cats out of your vege beds, and Rachel talked to a Central Otago gardener who has to deal with extreme temperatures, extreme drought... and temperamental donkeys. You can also follow the conversation on Spotify and Stitcher. Let your friends know too!
