Aie New Zealand fare grab
I booked feares to Australia some months before Covid 19 had been invented. We are due to travel early next month. We are now considering if it is wise to do so in the light of covid 19. I contacted Air New Zealand to ask what would happen to the money we have paid in advance if we chose not to travel (self isolate) or were prevented from traveling due to government decree. The AirNZ telephonist Daniel was very clear that Air New Zealand would keep our money, some $2200 under all circumstances if we did not travel and we would have to pay again when it was considered safe to travel. No other options.
It is very hard to feel any simpathy at all for an airline crying povity due to covid 19 given there complead lack of consideration for travelers forced to change their plans.
Does anyone have any ideas or advice in a matter such as this?
