Press deliveries
For our subscribers: Due to ex-Cyclone Gita weather conditions, there will be no Christchurch Press delivered in the Nelson or Marlborough regions tomorrow morning. The Nelson Mail will be delivered as usual, but will be rolled in plastic, rather than flat, to prevent it blowing away and hopefully keep it dry. This is still dependent on the road remaining open later this evening. We will keep you posted.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
