MOSAICS: Creating Detailed Designs

Nelson Women's Centre Team from Nelson Women's Centre

This is a 3 day class using fiberglass mesh to create more detailed designs. Two sessions to complete a design, and the 3rd day to grout.
Day 1
Creating a design and transferring to paper.

Learning how to assemble the mesh on top of the image.
Placing shards on top of the mesh and securing the design ready for grouting.
Day 2
You will continue to perfect your skills in cutting the ceramic, refining edges with sand and paper and learning how to use the grinder. The mesh has an adhesive quality, which means one can place down, but change or move it easily if necessary.
Because this is a more detailed image, I have allowed two sessions to complete the design.
Day 3
Grouting (Filling the gaps between individual mosaic tiles)
My workshop is not large, only 2 to 3 women at a time, which gives a very personalised experience.
*All materials will be supplied.
Dates : Dec 11th,12th and 13th
Day 1 9:30a.m. till 2 p.m.
Day 2 9:30a.m. till 11:30 a.m.
Day 3 9:30 a.m. till completion of grouting
Cost: $125 or $100 for NWC Members
Women's Centre , 44 Trafalgar Street, Nelson.

Got more greens than you know what to do with? 🥦🌱🥕

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!

Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
