Art competition
Howdy neighbours. Nelson and Tasman children are invited to get creative with an art competition that will give thanks to our essential workers. Children from year one to eight are invited to take part. The artwork will be sent to service providers and each Saturday, eight prize-winning pieces will be displayed in the Nelson Mail. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
