Nelson council's community services committee has approved $100,000 to fund this year's Mask Parade after Covid disrupted the planning stages. The Nelson Arts Festival Trust is organising an impromptu 'season of the arts' starting in the next few weeks which will end with the parade. Will you be going along? As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
