Amnesty International’s annual "Write for Rights" face-to-face letter writing event: 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, 10 December at NMIT, now in room K205.
As weekend access is restricted, organisers will let attendees in at 2pm at the Alton Street entry door (we will have our banner out on the pavement). Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
