Fruit trees along the walkways
It saddens me that there are "persimmon pigs" in our area. There were hundreds of persimmons just starting to ripen. They are of the astringent variety they need to ripen on the trees to be best eating. Then suddenly they are all gone. It seems that the family group that came along with buckets last year and picked every one they could get have been at it again. How disappointing that they are unable to only take them when they are ripe and only enough for their own use leaving some for others. When the trees were planted it was so that people living in the area could pick a few items of fruit. Perhaps the council needs to put up signs to remind people of what should be common courtesy.

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
