STOKED ON BREAKFAST! **IMPORTANT UPDATE**

Nathalie from Stoke

**IMPORTANT UPDATE**
In light of the Covid 19 situation we are making some changes to our community breakfast. We will still be proceeding from Sunday but in a different format so people will not need to come to a large gathering within a short space of time. We are working through the details and will post to our Facebook page @StokedNelson and update the event with the details on Saturday afternoon, so stay tuned!

The Stoked steering group is inviting you for breakfast on Sunday 22nd March between 9 till 11 am, at the Greenmeadows Centre;
and to keep things free for the wider residents of Stoke, we got support from the NZ Lottery grant board and Nelson City Council.
Stoked is a group of residents that got together to encourage local activities and to connect within our neighbourhood.
We have been working on some branding design we would like to show you, for our Stoke Community and are always looking forward to hearing about new ideas.
So all welcome...no matter what your interests are or your age group...
Our role is to support and to enable new and existing activities and to foster new partnerships and opportunities to make Stoke an even better place.
The STOKED steering group focuses on 6 identified areas: Greening Stoke, Stoke Happenings, Stoke Art, Stoke Youth, Stoke Community Engagement and Connecting Stoke’s residents, organisations and local businesses.

Pick yours! and join us in keeping and making Stoke a thriving and happy place to be.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
