Love Grace Appeal 2024
Violence against women is not OK.
Can you donate a handbag of essential items to show women who arrive at Women’s Refuge, that the people of Nelson Tasman care?
After Grace Millane was killed in Auckland by a man she met on a dating app, her family set up the ‘Love, Grace’ charitable appeal, to combine Grace’s love of handbags and their wish to help women fleeing violence.
CAB Nelson Tasman is a drop off point for handbags / sponge bags / essential items between Valentines Day (Feb 14) and International Womens Day (March 9), and these will be donated to Nelson Women’s Refuge to support women who’ve often left in extreme circumstances and arrive with nothing.
Attached is a poster with suggestions of suitable items for your individual bag, and we’re happy to receive just the bags (new) or several items so we can fill them up.

Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️
First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.
While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.
And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
-
38.4% Yes - get rid of the clock changes
-
59.9% No, I enjoy it

1.7% Other - I'll share below
