Dog Owners Beware! DO NOT walk up the Maitai this morning - Thursday 16th September

Paul & Marie from Maitai

I spoke with the Nelmac spraying team this morning. They are out spraying Roundup around the trees in the Maitai. I asked if the spray is harmful to our dogs and was told it is harmful for 2-3 hours 🙁 Please avoid this area this morning if you are walking your dogs. I am really angry that there is no signage left out warning us. One of the two employees I spoke with told me they are a dog owner, is only doing their job and to phone the council 🙁 (The white sign in the picture was being carried rather than left on the footpath).

Update...spoke to Nelmac who were really helpful and expressed surprise that there was no signage. They assured me they will be investigating immediately.

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.

Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.

We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?

NZ Post and Rachel Boyack

Tony from Tahunanui

I see our MP, Labour’s Rachel Boyack, is shedding crocodile tears over the NZ Post closures announced today for Nelson. Perhaps Rachel has ‘forgotten’ it was Labour that corporatised NZ Post, intentionally turning it from a service organisation into one focused solely on profit. Her cries would be a little more credible if she could promise Labour would reopen the closed offices or, even better, reverse that Labour-directed profit-only change.
Come on Rachel, what is Labour’s real position - public service or money?

Time to Tickle Your Thinker 🧠

The Riddler from The Neighbourly Riddler

If a zookeeper had 100 pairs of animals in her zoo, and two pairs of babies are born for each one of the original animals, then (sadly) 23 animals don’t survive, how many animals do you have left in total?
