Mysterious Manifestations in Nelson North
I go for a walk frequently on some hilly, private rural land in Nelson North. Recently the landowners were surprised to find a small statue and a couple of unusual beer bottles at an old skid site on their steep hillside property. More recently, a 'crop-circle' type of image appeared next to the gnome, created from firewood. I was walking in the area today and saw these mysterious objects myself, so I took photos.
There is no public access close to this location... the exact locality of which has to remain a secret (unless the owners want to post it here themselves).
No unusual traffic has been seen in the area and, as far as I am aware, there have been no recent reports of unidentified aerial phenomena. Nobody I've spoken to seems to know where the statue came from... or who screwed it securely to the log it is standing on.
The image created from firewood is intriguing. It appears to be a primitive, yet artistically pleasing, representation of a humanoid, obviously a male one. One theory for its presence suggests that it is a signal to the sky people from the secretive inhabitants of the local scrublands.... perhaps showing a rendezvous point. I favour the hypothesis that it is part of a fertility or potency ritual initiated by one of the locals as there don't seem to be many pregnant women in the immediate neighbourhood.
It would be great if anybody can throw any further light on these unusual objects.

Renewing your licence at 75
ππ»ππ¨ You will need to renew your driver licence when you turn 75, 80, and every two years after that.
Waka Kotahi, the NZ Transport Agency will send you a driver licence renewal pack about eight weeks before your licence is due to expire.
You can also apply up to 6 months before you turn 75 by downloading the form yourself or requesting one from a driver licencing agent near you.
As part of the renewal, you will need to:
π get a medical check by your doctor showing that you are medically fit to drive and
π you may also have to do an on-road safety test (this depends on what your medical check results are).
Once your medical check certificate states that you are fit to drive, and you have done an on-road test if required, you can complete the application form and visit a driver licensing agent to apply in person. When you apply, your medical check results must not be older than 60 days.
For more information on renewing your licence, medical checks, licensing agents and what to take with you when you apply, visit: cab.org.nz/article/KB00001560
