Members of the Katcha Whaea Waka Ama team will have waka on the water off Tāhunanui Beach on Saturday, December 4, that people can experience for a donation. The waka are a key attraction of a "Paddle for Pippy" event to raise funds for Nelson woman Philippa (Pip) Tavite, who has been diagnosed with bowel cancer. Food will also be available along with a Christmas hamper raffle, all for koha.

The Ministry of Primary Industries advises the following: ‘Raw milk may contain microorganisms that can cause serious illness. To reduce the risk of illness, raw milk should be heated to at least 70 degree Celsius for one minute. This is critical for infants, young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.’
