Final resting places of Nelson's nearly-forgotten characters restored

Thanks to the efforts of some generous community members, the resting place of local characters Archie Gascoigne and Ollie Strange has been given a spruce up recently at Wakapuaka Cemetery.

The Government has proposed a sweeping fuel-efficient vehicle policy that would make some cars up to $8000 cheaper - while others would be $3000 more expensive.

The "feebate" scheme wouldn't cost the taxpayer anything, instead using money gained by putting a fee on imported high-emissions cars in order to make imported hybrids, electric cars, and other efficient vehicles cheaper with a subsidy.

Full training and a vehicle for the lessons will be provided. Mentors must be over 20 years old, have held a drivers licence for at least two years, and be available for 2-3 hours a week.
