Eddie's rogaine at Silvan
Hello, Eddie Swain, a local Waimea College student loves encouraging people to try reading a map and getting into the outdoors. He is organizing a treasure hunt (rogaine - a type of orienteering) at Silvan bike park to help him earn some funds to travel Bulgaria in June for the European U18 orienteering champs. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
