Kai Fest cancelled over Covid concerns

Whakatū Marae and Founders Heritage Park made the joint decision to cancel the festival, scheduled for Waitangi Day, taking into account an “incredibly challenging” 2020, and the ongoing threat of Covid-19.

The Sunday Star-Times is looking into the rise of transportable/ kit-set/ pre fabricated homes. The upsides are build-efficiency, quality of design, and cost. The downsides appear to be land supply, red-tape with council and difficulty getting lending from banks. When moving house becomes a mammoth effort

Sue McNulty and Rob Douglas have moved house before, but it's the first time they've moved the entire building. The 1920s home has moved from Shelbourne Street in Nelson city to be stored in Wakefield while they find the perfect spot to rejuvenate the old home for their retirement.

New $44m library project proposed for Nelson

A proposal has been recommended to council to build a new $44m library at the corner of Halifax and Trafalgar St - replacing the old Elma Turner Library which has been on Halifax St since 1989.

Council will meet on Thursday to discuss the proposal, along with four other renovation and rebuild possibilities.
