Isabelle wants to be a part of her local community. She wants to grow vegetables with her three children. But with rental insecurity forcing her to move three times in two years, the things that home owners take for granted are out of reach.
With no luck finding a rental property, she and her children are facing the prospect of ending up in hotel accommodation. And once you're in emergency accommodation, it becomes even harder to find a home.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
