Riwaka Hotel revival planned for summer
Once a happy haunt for hunting competitions and summer gigs, The Riwaka Hotel's owners are keen to return a favourite establishment to its former glory.
After several years' inactivity, a motivated operator is now being sought to kick start the "legacy project" to re-open the 166-year-old pub, located near Motueka on the road between Nelson and Golden Bay.

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
