Lake Rotoroa/Gowan Valley/Bagust family/Willetts family

Gaye from Tahunanui

Is there anyone out there who are a descendant of families who lived at Lake Rotoroa/Gowan Valley early to mid last century......we would love to swap and share photos stories and information about our family too. So much written about Lake Rotoiti and so very little written about Lake Rotoroa. We would like to change this.
If you could please get in touch with me. Thank you.
We would like to get in touch with any of the families who are decendants of the settlers of this area. We know some of their names. We know some of the stories but we want to know ALOT more. We know about the history and are proud of the families who survived and tried so hard to make a go of it. We want to celebrate them.

The Poole Family. The Bagust family. The Willetts family. The Gibson Family. The Booth family. The Fittus family.
The old diggers from the area.....Rudy Lublow, Peter Johansen, and so many others.
We want to preserve the history and the stories and talk to people who have them to tell.
Please get in touch....we are hoping in January 2019 to hold a gathering of interested people to gather with our extended family and CELEBRATE our love for this place.

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Reserve Bank has shared some pretty blunt advice: there’s no such thing as a “safe” job anymore 🛟😑

Robots are stepping into repetitive roles in factories, plants and warehouses. AI is taking care of the admin tasks that once filled many mid-level office jobs.

We want to know: As the world evolves, what skills do you think give a CV the ultimate edge in a robot-filled workplace?

Ernest Rutherford Retirement Village

A Valentine’s-inspired wedding dress show at Ryman Healthcare’s Logan Campbell Village is providing the perfect opportunity for residents to share memories of their romantic day.

But for Emma Muller, it has also turned into an opportunity to celebrate her late daughter Nicola, who died 19 years ago at the age of 37.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
