Roger Halls Sparkling Comedy Social Climbers
What do you call six women stranded on a mountain in the rain: ridiculous! Or you could call them social climbers … but just not to their faces! Once at the hut, not only do they unload their packs full of food, wine, and a souvenir rock; their hang-ups get unloaded as well.

Once at the hut, not only do they unload their packs full of food, wine, and a souvenir rock; their hang-ups get unloaded as well.
Torrential rain and a flooded bridge keep them stranded for three days. What they get up to, to help pass the time, raises a few eyebrows and will have you laughing, tearing up and applauding enthusiastically as they bare all.
Of course, it’s not just souls that are exposed, there’s a little nudity, a cracking thunderstorm, explosions, screaming bloody murder, ghostly stories, a birthday celebration, a séance, a drunken party, confessions, meltdowns and revelations that will keep you and your friends entertained throughout.
Perfectly timed for your own social group’s ascent into summer, don’t miss this hilarious play when it comes to a town near you in November.

Well here’s your chance to acknowledge what they do: Neighbourhood Support Nelson wants to recognise such people, so we’re inviting nominations for our annual Neighbourhood Champion awards.
To nominate someone fill out a nomination form here. Nominations close at 5pm on September 5 and the awards will be presented at our AGM on September 18. Award winners will be presented with Mitre 10 Mega gift vouchers, and certificates.

Philippa Foes-Lamb was travelling west on the Appleby section of State Highway 60 when a heavy vehicle pulling a trailer unit pulled out suddenly from the Pea Viner Corner on Thursday afternoon.
The review of the route, between Three Brothers and Maisey Road, led to an NZTA proposal to lower the speed limit from 100km/h to 80km/h to improve safety.
Tasman District Council is proposing to lower the speed limits on connecting roads along the 9km stretch to ensure consistency with the speed limit proposed for SH60.

I noticed today that the roof area is festooned with small orange flags and wondered why. Is it to frighten the birds off or perhaps they are not far away from opening and these are celebratory decorations for that event.Hope someone knows as I thought that the opening was some time away....
