Dog walking or Baby sitting

Penny from Tahunanui

Hi Im Briana
I’m nearly 15 years old, a year 10 at Nayland College and are you looking for a Baby sitter or Dog walker because Im looking to earn a little extra money over the holidays and possibly longer if your interested.

I love all animals, we have a dog, Ruby, that I always love to take down the beach for a good run and we have two cats, I live in Tahunanui so I have access to the Beach for dog walking and Mum said she would deliver and pick me up for baby sitting requirements. I also have two Cousins under the age of five who I have taken care of before, Im a great entertainer and always love to have a laugh.

Im responsible and athletic, I play volleyball for Nayland in the Senior A team and I love meeting new people and socialising.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

DOC is rolling out a new tool to help figure out what to tackle first when it comes to protecting our threatened species and the things putting them at risk.

Why does this matter? As Nikki Macdonald from The Post points out, we’re a country with around 4,400 threatened species. With limited time and funding, conservation has always meant making tough calls about what gets attention first.

For the first time, DOC has put real numbers around what it would take to do everything needed to properly safeguard our unique natural environment. The new BioInvest tool shows the scale of the challenge: 310,177 actions across 28,007 sites.

Now that we can see the full picture, it brings the big question into focus: how much do we, as Kiwis, truly value protecting nature — and what are we prepared to invest to make it happen?

We hope this brings a smile!

Poll: Should we be pushing a soft-plastics recycling rollout across the whole region 🗑️

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Nelson City Council has confirmed that the kerbside soft plastic trial is continuing for the current 1,000 homes. It’s a fantastic step towards being more sustainable, but many of us are still waiting for our turn.

We want to know: Should we be pushing for a rollout across the whole region? Or are you happy to keep using the drop-off points at the supermarket for now?
Is this something your household would actually participate in! ♻️
