This one bedroom unit on the hill behind Mapua has unexpectedly become available from early to mid December through to end of January. Minimum two week rental. $250 per night. Sleeps four (1 Queen and 2 single beds).
This tranquil four acre farmlet overlooking Tasman Bay has alpacas, ducks and chickens, beautiful gardens, ponds, native bush and birds. Relax under the umbrella or take in the view from the wood-fired hot tub, or enjoy some night time stargazing.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
