The 'Daily Grind'

Jax from Atawhai

We have all been affected with the Cover-19 lockdown. Our daily routine of work, schools, homes have all been turned upside down. The most significant businesses that will feel an instant hit, no doubt, is your local cafe or coffee cart. Just a thought. That $4.50 (more for a double shot!) that we rarely think twice about spending, makes a huge difference to our small business cafe owners when you multiply that by the amount of customers they are losing per day. The impact is huge. Why not put your daily coffee money aside, put the kettle on at home, and when this is all over, donate the money, however small, to your local cafe. We all know they are an important part of our Nelson culture...now is an opportunity to pay this back. Places like @jokerespresso with ever smiling Tracy and @bobbyfranks with the gorgeous Kira deserve to be remembered in all this! We will be back!

Scam Alert: Bank cold calls

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

ASB is warning customers about reports of cold calls from scammers claiming to be from ASB. These scammers are trying to obtain personal information, including usernames, dates of birth, and verification codes sent to your mobile phone.

🛡️ The "Caller Check" Test
If you get a call from someone claiming to be from ASB and you’re unsure, just ask them for a Caller Check. You will then be able to verify the call through the app.

Remember, banks will:
❌ Never ask for your banking passwords, PINs, or verification codes
❌ Never need to know your full credit card number – especially the CVC
❌ Never ask you to download software or remotely access your device
❌ Never ask you to purchase gift cards or transfer funds.

If you have received a phone call and think your account has been compromised, call ASB on 0800 ASB FRAUD (0800 272 372), or visit your local branch.
