Hay fever is an exaggerated immune system response to an allergen like pollen, dust mites and pets to name a few. Your system overreacts, thinking that these allergens are dangerous to your system and need to be attacked and expelled.
Symptoms can include:
- runny and or stuffy nose
- sneezing
- itchy eyes, watery eyes
- frequent throat-clearing
- rabbit-like movements of the nose
- repeated nosebleeds
- headaches because of pressure from inside the nose
- frequent earaches, fullness in the ear, ear infections or hearing loss
- chronic cold without much fever
- dark circles under the eyes
