Good to know where our rates are going........
Letter from council as follows:
Good afternoon Justine,
In response to your enquiry regarding track maintenance in Eureka Park where tracks through the redwoods and Greenwood Track are located, our contractors have outlined the following:
A leaf blower is used to
* Blow the debris out of the gutters to allow the water to drain correctly.
* Remove the debris and leaf litter off the track surface to allow the water to shed correctly and reduce the slipperiness/unevenness.
These methods of track maintenance are our standard operating procedures, and allow us to manage general water erosion wear and tear on our track surfaces
Ngā mihi

Poll: As a customer, what do you think about automation?
The Press investigates the growing reliance on your unpaid labour.
Automation (or the “unpaid shift”) is often described as efficient ... but it tends to benefit employers more than consumers.
We want to know: What do you think about automation?
Are you for, or against?
-
9.3% For. Self-service is less frustrating and convenient.
-
43.6% I want to be able to choose.
-
47.1% Against. I want to deal with people.
NZ Post and Rachel Boyack
I see our MP, Labour’s Rachel Boyack, is shedding crocodile tears over the NZ Post closures announced today for Nelson. Perhaps Rachel has ‘forgotten’ it was Labour that corporatised NZ Post, intentionally turning it from a service organisation into one focused solely on profit. Her cries would be a little more credible if she could promise Labour would reopen the closed offices or, even better, reverse that Labour-directed profit-only change.
Come on Rachel, what is Labour’s real position - public service or money?
Time to Tickle Your Thinker 🧠
If a zookeeper had 100 pairs of animals in her zoo, and two pairs of babies are born for each one of the original animals, then (sadly) 23 animals don’t survive, how many animals do you have left in total?
