February Festival
Righto, now that's done and dusted, it's time to get serious about outfits for February. I mostly knit mine due to lack of funds and also, knitting became huge in the 1930s. I've even knitted an evening dress if anyone saw the fashion show at the Soundshell, that was my knitted collection.
Every Saturday from 10-1, I got to Wool N Things at the Onekawa shops for a knitting group. Everyone does their own thing and sometimes other crafts such as crochet and embroidery too.
There are thousands of free vintage knitting and crochet patterns on the internet if you'd like to make your own clothes, hats, bags and gloves. Please come and join us. I'd love to see more people wearing their own made outfits as that's was a big thing during the Depression and it beats wearing the same as everyone else.
We each pay $2 for the use of the facilities and there is a coffee shop next door or bring a thermos. If you purchase on the day of knitting group, Christine offers a 10% discount. It would be fabulous to have some new additions to our group.
