Call for more responsibility after rubbish dumpers contaminate depot
People are disposing of non-recyclable waste at the Martin Place depot, and it's putting the future of the collection centre at risk.
On average, the contractors are finding that 29 per cent of the recyclable material is being contaminated from other rubbish, resulting in significant cost to sort and dispose of it properly.
The Hastings District Council can also track offenders through detailed envelopes which have been disposed of.
