Severe weather warning: heavy Rain for the Tararua District and Hawkes Bay
A complex and slow-moving trough of low pressure affects the North Island today, bringing rain or showers to many places, with some heavy falls about parts of eastern districts.
The heaviest rain is expected in the Tararua District and Hawkes Bay south of Waipawa where a heavy rain warning is still in force. Periods of rain, heavy at times, is also expected northwards of Waipawa.
Valid: 7 hours from 9:00am to 4:00pm Monday
Forecast: Rain, heavy at times. Expect a further 40 to 70mm to accumulate on top of what has already fallen. Peak intensities about 10mm per hour.

NB there have been 2 potential sightings - the most likely sighting is Hyderabad Road near Northe Street
