OLDER RESIDENTS IN OUR COMMUNITY
if you have an older person living nearby perhaps a call in to see if they require anything, assistance to bring firewood in, perhaps they are unable to get to the supermarket in this wet weather. We have been receiving phone calls regarding older people suffering from flu and living alone, neighbourhood support for these older residents may make all the difference to their wellbeing.
Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?
As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
