My grandmother used to read and do the crosswords etc in the Australasian Post. Many will remember this from the cartoons of the Ettamogah Pub.
Just wondering if anyone has any tucked away in a box somewhere that they don't want any more so I can use them in the photos.
I'm trying to do at least 12 different themes all based around things that they did:
1. Royal visit
2. NZR one around the 50th Anniversary of the golden spike
3. Knitting dolls clothes
4. Jello/Aspic food
5. Getting the thripences out of the Christmas pud
6. Doing crosswords / reading
7. Pulp magazines eg Westerns, Detective Stories
8. Bacon and Eggs
9. Summer drinks
A few others I'm thinking about.
Have added one of them I've done so far. Getting the items for the photos is possible the hardest part.

The parade on Saturday is to thank those who came to our region's aid in the aftermath of the cyclone in February. It is followed by the SoundShell Shindig which is a fundraiser for cyclone relief. Dress up and bring your family and friends.
