Volunteers who can sew
Cosy Kids is a local initiative which provides warm clothing and beddng to keep little ones in the community warm during the cold months. Recently we have been gifted a source of great quality merino fabric and now we need some kind folk with sewing skills who can turn it into garments such as sleepwear, beanies and vests. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.
