Unveiling two Anzacs
ON 23 April, we will be unveiling headstones in Napier for two veterans who have lain in unmarked graves since the 1940s.
Harry Roy Bower MM 6/4588 who died on 19 January 1941 and Australian Thomas Ryan 1660 who died on 23 December 1944. A New Zealander and an Australian for Anzac Day.
The services will be at the top of Park Island cemetery starting at 10am. For those that cannot attend, the event will be live streamed to NZ Remembrance Army Facebook page.
Poll: Do you think banning gang patches is reasonable?
With the government cracking down on gangs, it is now illegal for gang members to display their insignia in public places whether through clothing or their property.
This means arrests can be made if these patches are worn in places like restaurants, shops, on public transport or ferries, and on airplanes. Arrests were made recently at a funeral.
