Volunteering at Napier Riding for the Disabled
I have been a volunteer at the Napier Riding For the Disabled for over 3 years. I have had quite a few different experiences, helping with horses and leading clients, working on the grounds, mucking out, fundraising and being part of the committee. Now I mainly run the muck pile and a garden. I have found the experience very rewarding and enjoyable. The team at the Riding for the Disabled, managers and other volunteers are very friendly and supportive.
They are still looking for more help so that they can reach more children and adults with physical, intellectual, emotional and social challenges by interactions with horses.
There is more information on the RDA website.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
