Severe weather watch for Hawkes Bay
An area of low pressure to the east of New Zealand directs a moist southerly flow over the North Island during Tuesday and Wednesday. An associated front is expected to lie slow-moving about Hawkes Bay during this time, enhancing the rainfall in that region.
People are advised to keep up to date with forecasts in case this Watch is upgraded to a full Warning, or additional areas are placed on Watch.
Valid: 30 hours from 5:00pm Tuesday to 11:00pm Wednesday
Forecast: Periods of heavy rain. Rainfall amounts may approach warning criteria, especially about the hills and ranges.
