Knitting slippers for Gabrielle cyclone children
There has been a request for children's knitted slippers asap. Please think about donating wool and/or knitting some. You only need to know the basic garter stitch. There will be patterns available at the Little Bookshop, Latham Street, Napier for pick up and wool drop off as well as outside 2A Breakwater Road, Ahuriri opposite the port. Thank you. The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if it’s approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.
